Donald Trump said, “We’re going to tariff our pharmaceuticals. They’ll come rushing back into our country,” Trump stated, signaling one of his strongest stances yet on reducing America's reliance on foreign drug manufacturing.

This announcement will have an impact on the Indian market and the Chinese market According to estimates by independent research firms, these tariffs could increase annual drug spending in the U.S. by as much as $50–$60 billion, as manufacturers pass on the additional costs to consumers. There are also fears of drug shortages, particularly for generic medications and critical treatments that are currently imported from countries like India and China.

As soon as this announcement came, the Nifty Pharma index saw a decline of 2%.Along with this Nifty and Bank Nifty also got pulled down and a fall was seen in them too.
